Privacy Policy
Last updated 10 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Seene ("Seene," "we," "us") collects through seene.dev and the Seene product, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it. "Seene" is currently a trading name rather than a separate registered legal entity; the correct entity details will be added here once confirmed with legal counsel, without changing the substance of the commitments below.
What we collect
- Contact details — your email address, collected when you run a free scan, join the waitlist, create an account, or contact support.
- Business information — the website URL you submit for scanning, and, if you create an account, business details such as name, category, location, service areas and key offerings.
- Account credentials — handled by our authentication provider, Supabase. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google; we never see or store your Google password.
- Report content — the AI-generated visibility results, scores and recommendations produced for your business.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference, never your full card details.
- Support messages — anything you send us through the help/contact form, including your email, subject and message.
- Usage and analytics data — standard web analytics (pages viewed, general location, device/browser type) via Google Tag Manager and Vercel Analytics.
Why we collect it
We use this information to:
- run the AI visibility scan you request and generate your report;
- create and operate your account and the customer portal;
- process payments and manage subscriptions;
- respond to support requests;
- send service-related emails (e.g. your report is ready, billing receipts);
- send you marketing or waitlist emails, but only where you have given consent, with an unsubscribe link in every message; and
- understand aggregate usage of the site so we can improve it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. To provide the Service, we share the minimum information necessary with:
- OpenAI, Anthropic, Google (Gemini) and Perplexity — your business's website and generated test questions are sent to these providers' APIs to produce the AI visibility results shown in your report. Each provider processes this under its own privacy terms.
- Stripe — processes payments and stores billing details for paid plans.
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication.
- Vercel — hosts the application and provides website analytics.
- Google (Tag Manager) — provides website analytics via cookies (see Cookies below).
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer (e.g. a merger or acquisition), in which case we'd require the recipient to honour this policy.
Overseas data transfers
Several of the providers above (including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, Stripe, Supabase and Vercel) may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on those providers' own compliance frameworks and contractual safeguards. If you are in the EU or UK, this may constitute an international transfer of personal data under the GDPR; we take reasonable steps to ensure an adequate level of protection.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies via Google Tag Manager and Vercel Analytics to understand how the site is used. These are limited to analytics purposes; we do not currently run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking. You can block cookies through your browser settings, though some site features may not work as well as a result.
How long we keep it
We keep account and report data for as long as your account is active, and free-scan records for as long as needed to enforce our fair-use limits (a capped number of free scans per email address and per website domain). If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we will do so within a reasonable time, except where we need to retain limited records for legal, accounting or fraud-prevention reasons.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing hello@seene.dev. If you are in Australia, you also have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you are not satisfied with our response. If you are in the EU or UK, you have rights under the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
Seene is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, including relying on Supabase and Vercel's infrastructure security and Stripe's PCI-compliant payment handling. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and if a change is material we will take reasonable steps to let you know.

This is a general-purpose privacy policy intended to give a reasonable, good-faith level of transparency and protection while Seene is in early access. It is being reviewed by a lawyer and may be updated as that review completes.
