Terms of Service

Last updated 10 September 2026

These terms govern your use of seene.dev and the Seene product (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. "Seene" is currently a trading name rather than a separate registered legal entity; the correct entity details will be added here once confirmed with legal counsel, without changing the substance of the terms below.

The Service

Seene runs a set of realistic customer questions against AI assistants (currently ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity) and reports whether your business is mentioned or recommended, and what might be preventing that. The free scan and any paid plans are described on the pricing section of the site, which may change from time to time.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to act on behalf of the business you submit for scanning. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Please provide accurate information when creating an account.

Free scan usage limits

To keep the free scan sustainable, we apply fair-use limits per email address and per website domain. We may adjust these limits at any time without notice.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (currently monthly) through Stripe, at the price shown at checkout. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and we do not provide refunds for partial periods except where required by law. Nothing in this section limits any consumer guarantee that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
  • attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure;
  • exceed or circumvent rate limits or usage caps; or
  • submit a website for scanning that you do not have the authority to submit.

AI-generated content is not a guarantee

Reports, scores and recommendations are generated using third-party AI models, which are non-deterministic and can produce different answers to the same question at different times. Results are a benchmark and directional guide, not a guarantee of how any AI platform will actually respond to a real customer, and do not constitute legal, financial or professional advice. You are responsible for your own decisions based on a report.

Intellectual property

We own the Seene platform, branding and software. You own the information you submit about your business, and grant us a licence to use it solely to provide the Service to you (for example, sending it to the AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy to generate your report).

Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, Stripe, Supabase and Vercel), each subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy or conduct of these third parties.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Seene is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded; where our liability can be limited, it is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the Service or refunding the amount paid for it.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or misuse the Service. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property and limitation of liability) continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above; continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any dispute should first be raised informally with us at hello@seene.dev so we can try to resolve it directly.

Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@seene.dev.

These are general-purpose terms intended to give a reasonable, good-faith level of clarity and protection while Seene is in early access. They are being reviewed by a lawyer and may be updated as that review completes.
